ADJUSTING TO NEW ENERGIES

     It's taking a while to adjust to the new energies of Jupiter in Leo and Mars in Scorpio. I feel like its time to be more forceful, more creative, more powerful. And yet, exciting as the ideas of these change are, I don't yet actually feel them expressing in my body and my life. With change, with new energies, there is an awkward period as the seeds of change grow and bear fruit.
     The expansiveness of Jupiter in Leo will grow and ripen over the whole year ahead. You can't rush it, you have to let your life grow day by day, opening to a new fullness. Maybe in these beginning stages, you become aware of how small and limited your life is in some ways, and you feel a yearning for the expansion that is to come, but isn't here yet. I guess working with astrology ideas, you have to know the difference between an encouraging idea like Jupiter in Leo, and the reality of your actual experience. Astrology can point out opportunities and tendencies, but you have to live them in your body, your relationships, your life.
    And Mars in Scorpio is the idea of bolder, more passionate and powerful action. At this point, you can feel this as being discontent, not satisfied with how things are going, a frustration, a mounting will to take control. But again an awkwardness as you slowly get more in touch with your power and your passion, and you learn how to express it most effectively. After eight months of Mars in placating and diplomatic Libra, it can be strange and uncomfortable to flex your muscles and act with crystal-clear directness. You can hurt people and freak yourself out with your obsessive willfulness.
     Can we cut some slack for ourselves and each other during this adjustment time? Let's give space for change to evolve, and slowly and elegantly grow these new qualities of expansion and power. We can let change happen, we can never ever force it.
