End of Thanksgiving four day holiday. Still feeling grateful, open to humbly appreciating everything in my life as grace, I don’t think grace is a reward for good behavior. Maybe grace is just the abundant generosity of Life. Grace wants us to experience the full range of human experience. Grace is the gift of awareness of who you really are. Here you are, alive and present. Grace is YOU, dear FB friend.
Grace is my marriage, a true gift from the heavens.. The opportunity to do some cool helpful work. All the brilliant special people in my family. Grace is surviving a life-threatening illness and coming out of it with joy and open eyes. Grace is communicating with my spiritual community, writing on Facebook most days. Grace is even the invention of the internet that allows us to communicate so much, good stuff and bad.
The sun coming up, slowly brightening the vast sky: grace. The sweet look in each other’s eyes when we are feeling tender. Grace is our ability to compassionately engage with all the pain and strife in the world. Grace is the energy to show up and be yourself in this world of extremes, the incredible beauty and the horrific violence and cruelty. So as another Thanksgiving long weekend fades, I celebrate the gift of everyday gratitude, the gift of sweetest grace.
