Relaxing deep into the flow of my daily qigong practice, I feel the movement of energy in body and mind. I sense the space of the breath. I am open and at peace. And then the mind pops up with a short list of conflicts, a difficult relationship, a whole series of interconnected frustrations, a long history of similar frustrations,
angers, resentments. Then another breath, expanding, letting go of those conflicts for a while, relaxing more. Quietly joining with the universe. And then, the ego sneaks in and does what it does, which is to create conflicts: mine/yours, right/wrong, better/worse, your fault/my fault, me bad/you bad.
All the astrology now points to a time of healing conflicts. Funny thing is, to heal conflicts we have to become even more aware of them. We are so used to some conflicts that we just think that's the way life is. Becoming more aware that you are fighting, resisting, judging allows understanding to emerge, about the issues. Wounded pride, sense of being wronged or disrespected, blamed or blaming, unable to make a choice, so many kinds of conflicts. What's needed is consciousness and clarity about what is actually going on, and then humility and honesty in choosing what needs to be done to bring peace. Negotiation and dialogue are effective actions. So are forgiveness and acceptance. The art of peace requires an honest heart, the intention to love fully, and the ability to put aside your ego.
