FEELING SECURE- NEW MOON IN CANCER

New Moon happens 3AM Friday morning. A celebration of the feeling of wholeness, comfort, contentment. Feeling at home in your body. Feeling at home in your life. Feeling close with those you care about. Feeling secure in what you have, like enough of your needs are met, and you can relax.
But, you and I can never be totally secure in this world, because everything is constantly changing., especially these days. A great teacher taught that the cause of suffering is the clinging to things that are changing. Nothing is so solid that the molecules and atoms and space stop moving. Our best shot  at comfort and security is when we accept this flow of aliveness, and jump into the river of time with full enthusiasm, knowing we can't control it, can't hold on to it. "Comfortable with Uncertainty", is the title of one of Pema Chodren's books. It names the way forward at this time of Cancer New Moon.
In the flow of uncertainty and change, what can we give each other, what do we want from each other? I cannot prevent your pain, and you cannot save me from mine. Everyday, every moment, there is a gift we can give and receive. We can be present with each other, for each other. We can be available to each other. We can care about each other, and show up, and respond, and nurture each other. We are all we've got. We are all we need.
