You have creative intentions. You are excited about things you want to make happen. Your projects, your relationships, your self-improvement, your peace of mind, are flowing along. And then, suddenly, a setback occurs. Your happy progress is interrupted, obstructed, challenged. That very problem that you were afraid might happen has appeared. You have to deal with it. Wise gurus have said that the secret to compassion and real love is to have your heart broken as you realize that everything dies, all is changing, and attachment to getting your way is the cause of suffering. Pain and difficulty are your great teachers. When you honor and respect them, even welcome them into your life, they bring the gifts of humility, patience, honesty,
and sometimes even enlightenment.
