SERENITY

Peace comes when I realize I can't have it my way. Letting go, peace is here in my inevitable breathing in and breathing out. Not very creative, or dramatic, or self-important , this breathing is a gift, unearned, simply given. Who gives the gift of peace? More important question is who receives it?
You can feel the presence of those in your life who have learned the secret of peace, the natural breathing in and out of all things.  The art of peace is in accepting, engaging, and effortlessly joining with what is really here. Maintaining a willingness to be with whatever shows up, to love and work with the world you live it.
There is a natural harmony, and you feel it in your bones. There is a simplicity and directness that clarifies your mind. There is great gentleness and beauty in nature and in the faces of children and friends and wise ones, that settles your heart and takes away troubles. And in your calm breathing, and in everything that you do, when you are touch with your own presence, there is peace.
Sure, there is also excitement and passion and intention and self-expression and caring and commitment. But at the center of it all, if you are willing to be aware of it, is a deep and permanent peace.
