PERSPECTIVE


     Below is a photo of the Earth moving past Jupiter. The photo was taken from Mars by the Mars Orbiter Camera. You and I are on the smaller planet. Size-wise, we are not terribly important, even in the perspective of own solar system. And then there's the Milky Way and innumerable stars. And immeasurable mind-bending space between all things. That's looking outward.
     If you think about the almost infinite inner worlds of brain cells, blood, atoms, molecules, DNA genes, and what-all inside each of us, there's a whole lot going on all the time.
     So the next time you get too hung up about your To-Do list,
or your bank account, or the weather, or whether you are good enough to be happy, or the latest frustration--  step back. 
     Step back into your breathing. Take a big one in, and let the vast space of life fill you. Let it slowly go out, and connect to the planets and the stars and the space beyond.  Humbly surrender to this perspective, not centered in ego, embracing the whole of this moment. And then...
