APPRECIATION

     I appreciate you. You are amazing. It is stunning how the life force of the universe expresses itself as you. Each person in my life is a work of art, mind-blowing in complexity and uniqueness. And yet, you are simply yourself. Present in your sweetness, your kindness, your aspirations, your talents. 
     I appreciate even the ways that you are challenging to me, the ways you stretch me to understand and open to qualities and behaviors that are different from mine. I appreciate your struggles, your suffering, your problems. And your courage, your victories, your joys. You have your own very distinct style. Your own beautiful voice. Your own incredibly precious message. 
     You have showed up in my life. You have spoken to me and shared your heart. You have taught me how to listen to you, and how to hear you. You have offered up who you are, and now we are here, in a lifelong conversation.
