In meditation, sometimes things get clearer. Thoughts and feelings settle down, calm occurs. Sometimes pain comes up, emotional or physical discomfort. Or flashes of events long past.
Sometimes in meditation you just sit there, aware of just sitting there. Sometimes you go deep and loose "yourself". Or you go deep and find yourself, you feel and see who you really are, like recognizing yourself in a brilliant starry night sky.
Meditation in a very good thing to do. I am extremely grateful that someone discovered meditation and told other people about it.
And now there are so many great resources to learn and deepen your meditation that it can make your head spin. Meditation is really simple, even though there are countless ways to do it. You just be yourself and pay attention to what you're aware of and notice the thoughts and feelings that come up, without getting lost in them. You pay attention, and you don't think too much. And if you do think too much (we all do) you notice it, and you let go, and you gradually return to yourself. You can do this year after year,
you don't achieve victory over your mind, or any victory (or defeat). You just pay attention to your life and yourself. And that's
a good thing to do.
