HAWK

Seeing a lot of red tail hawks in my neck of the woods lately. Soaring over the trails of the nearby Hyland Nature Area. Contemplating from their perches on the light poles along Hwy 100 and Normandale Blvd. These birds are inspiring. They have incredibly sharp eyes. They can scan the long view, seeing high and wide. And they can focus down on tiny details. The hawk vision takes it all in, sees the big picture, and sorts it out, to focus on what is useful, on what can provide food to bring back to the nest, to feed the little ones.
Hawks remind me to keep my eyes open, to take the long view, and to laser in on the details of what's important now. Hawk, soaring dramatically or quietly gazing on your perch, I salute you.
