THE FULLNESS

     Summer Solstice arrives at 5AM tomorrow, as the Sun moves from brainy Gemini to emotional Cancer. Basking in the light of the longest day, radiant in the abundant green of the trees, and the fast flowing creeks and streams, I offer a Solstice prayer. 
     May I be of service to the people I love. May my energies nurture and support those who are connected to me. May everything and anything I have be of use to the world. May my preoccupation with myself and my own progress shift into greater compassion for the world community, and may my intelligence be applied to contributing to others, rather than figuring myself out. May the fullness of this life, the natural abundance of this world,
overflow into all lives everywhere. May all of us feel the happiness of our essential nature. 
     Solstice is like a great nurturing summer soup, simmering with
vegetables, minerals, micro-nutrients, maybe a ham-bone. Solstice is fresh-baked breads, abundant salads, all the food you could want or need. So the table is spread now, and you are invited to share what you've got to this great Potluck feast, and to take your seat at the big long table.
