Jupiter and Saturn are in balance now, throughout December. The astrologer looks at this and wonders: what could it mean? How can two distant planets have anything to do with you?
For me, the arrangement of planets in the sky tells a story, a teaching lecture. Sitting down with the planets is like visiting a guidance counselor. The only problem: what the hell is he saying?
So you break it down. Jupiter teaches about expansion and optimism and opportunity. Saturn counsels restraint and practicality and boundaries and responsibility. Jupiter has a good juicy happy feeling. Saturn feels tighter, stronger, slower.
Then you take those general qualities and wonder how you can apply them to your life. That's what I do as astrologer, and you can do it too.
Encourage and appreciate a lively organic balance in your own life between expansiveness and realistic limits, between generosity and caution, between luck and discipline, between hope and hard work.
Nice post on many levels, Jeff! I approach the I Ching the same way, and my last hexagram pair was Liberation/Immediate Action followed by Conflict/Wish you had thought this through. Push/pull. Seems to be in the ether.
